1. What we collect

The extension reads the synced lyrics Spotify displays for the track you're playing, along with track metadata (title, artist, cover art), so it can capture and organize them into a shareable playlist.

When you generate a playlist link, the selected lyrics and metadata are uploaded to our worker so the link can be opened publicly.

We create an anonymous, random identifier (a UUID) stored locally in your browser and the extension. This ties your free-usage count and any Pro purchase to your device without requiring an account.

2. What we do not collect

We do not require and do not collect your Spotify account credentials, password, or login. The extension works on the Spotify Web Player page you already use.

We do not build a listening-history profile or sell your data. Captured lyrics are only used to build the playlists you explicitly create.

3. How lyric data is used

Captured lyrics are stored locally in your browser (in the extension's storage) until you choose to generate a shareable link.

When you create a playlist link, the selected lyrics are sent to our backend (a Cloudflare D1-backed worker) and stored so the link resolves. Anyone with the link can read those lyrics.

Free links expire and are removed after their validity period; Pro links are retained for their longer validity period.

4. Payments

Pro purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy may collect transaction data such as name, email, billing details, payment method information, purchase amount, tax, refund, and dispute data according to its own privacy practices.

We receive the anonymous userId you pass at checkout and license/activation status so we can unlock Pro for you. We do not see or store your full card number or card security code.

5. Third parties

Spotify: the extension runs on the Spotify Web Player and reads lyrics Spotify serves. Spotify's own terms and privacy practices apply to your use of Spotify.

Lemon Squeezy: handles checkout and payment processing.

Cloudflare: hosts the worker that stores generated playlists and checks Pro status.

6. Translation

The lyric viewer can translate lyrics into other languages. When you enable translation, lyric text is sent to a translation provider to return the translated text. Your language choice is remembered locally in your browser.

7. Data retention & deletion

Local capture data lives in your browser and can be cleared anytime by removing the extension or clearing its storage.

Generated playlist links are retained for their validity period (free: ~7 days, Pro: ~2 years). To request early removal of a specific link, contact support@ideaguard.dev with the link.
